Religious Content

Using Traditional Formats

For those who  choose a conventional, legal marriage:

Strong Faith       Interfaith    Non-denominational    Civil

.

Like every other aspect of your wedding, you get to choose the religions/spiritual content.   Rev. Robert offer all the variations on religious content, from strongly religious to strictly civil and everything in between.

.

Religious:

This ceremony acknowledges God in the traditional format.   It is specifically designed for those who hold strong religious convictions based on Christian traditions.   The ceremony content usually sound something like this:

Since this is such a special day to remember, we are moved to ask for blessing from the Divine.   Ladies and gentlemen, please reach into your hearts and invoke that which you hold most holy and most sacred.   And from that sacred space deep within your being, please support this loving prayer of intention as I ask for blessings from the Divine.   (A rather tradition Prayer is inserted here.)

At the other points in the ceremony where religion is a normal part to the ceremony,  the content inserted follows the style used above.

.

.

Spiritual:    Interfaith    Non-denominational

This ceremony acknowledges God, but does not bring in any aspects of traditional religion.   It is specifically designed for two types of couples:

1)   Interfaith marriages -- where two religions meet.

2)   Those who acknowledge God, but do not participate in any particular religion.

The ceremony content usually sound something like this:

Because this is such a special day to remember, we are moved to ask for blessing from the "The Source of All Love."   And since each of you here has your own connection  to that infinite source, please to reach into your own hearts and invoke that which you hold most holy and most sacred.   From that sacred space deep within your being, please join me in connecting to The Source of Everlasting Love and asking that source to send blessings of love and fulfillment to this couple, for this ceremony, and for their married life together.

At the other points in the ceremony where religion is a normal part to the ceremony,  the content inserted follows the style used above.

.

Civil:

If you prefer no references to God, Rev. Robert can officiate a ceremony to meet your needs and desires.   The ceremony content usually sound something like this:

And so, ladies and gentlemen, would each of you please, reach into your hearts and bring forth thoughts of love.  For those of you who may be so inclined, please,  in your own way,  connect to The Infinite Source of All That Is, for support in bringing forth  that love.

And now, from that space of love deep within the core of your own being  please join with me  in sending thoughts of joy, happiness and fulfillment  to  *Bride   and   *Groom    for this ceremony,  and for their married  life together.   Encircle  them with your Love.  Enfold them in thoughts of joy.  Support their marriage with delightful hopes for their future.   For your care, your love and for your best wishes, we are most grateful and we say thank you.

At the other points in the ceremony where religion is a normal part to the ceremony,  the content inserted follows the style used above.
